Lindsay Lohan Back in L.A. for Monday Court Hearing

The actress returned to Los Angeles from France on Saturday evening around 7 p.m., after spending a week in Cannes, which has caused major legal woes for Lohan.

The "Mean Girls" actress missed her mandatory DUI progress report hearing Thursday, which made Judge Marsha Revel to issue a warrant for her arrest. Lohan blamed a stolen passport. The warrant was revoked after Lohan's legal team posted bail of $100,000.

Revel has said that once the actress surrenders, she will immediately forbid Lohan from consuming alcohol, and Lohan must undergo random drug and alcohol testing, get fitted with an alcohol monitoring bracelet.

Lindsay Lohan was arrested in 2007 in which she was pulled over and taken into custody for suspicion of drunk driving and driving under the influence of cocaine.

Lohan had a tumultuous week of partying at the Cannes Film Festival, where she attended various events to promote her Linda Lovelace film.

The Queen of Pop is set to release a greatest hits album this fall. “We're hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September,” her rep, Liz Rosenberg, tells People. “We're all very excited about it.”

On Tuesday, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, posted a short message via his Twitter feed, asking fans about what songs they think must be included in the compilation effort. “Working on Madonna’s greatest hits album,” he wrote. “Any tracks that you think MUST be on?”

The Material Girl also considers to make some fresh tracks for the greatest hits effort. “Madonna does have plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album,” says Rosenberg.

The greatest hits album will be Madonna's last with Warner Records, with whom she sold more than 200 million albums. Post-leaving Warner, she has signed a deal reportedly worth $150 million with concert promoter Live Nation.

Sharon Stone has lost physical custody of her 8-year-old son, Roan, to her ex-husband, Phil Bronstein, despite her court pleas to change the arrangement.

According to minutes from a September 12, 2008 custody hearing, a Superior Court judge ruled that Stone's ex-husband Phil Bronstein "shall have permanent sole physical custody" of the child because the former newspaper editor was found able to "provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure and consistent home that...Roan needs." and "The court does not find that (a) move away is in child's best interest," say the minutes.

The order has been made permanent, unless Stone relocates to San Francisco, where Bronstein and now Roan reside, or if Bronstein moves away from the Bay Area.

On February 14, 1998, Stone married Phil Bronstein, executive editor of the San Francisco Examiner and later San Francisco Chronicle. Stone and Bronstein were divorced in January 2004, after he had suffered a severe heart attack. The couple adopted Roan in 2004. Stone has two other adopted boys, Laird and Quinn.

Singer Jerry Reed dies at 71

Jerry Reed, a country music singer, country guitarist, session musician, songwriter, and actor who became a good ol' boy actor in car chase movies like "Smokey and the Bandit," has died at the age of 71. Reed died on Monday from complications from emphysema. Reed had quadruple bypass surgery in June 1999.

Reed was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Reed's parents separated four months after his birth, and he and his sister spent seven years in foster homes or orphanages. Reed was reunited with his mother and stepfather in 1944. Music helped ease the stressful times the new family was under.

At age 18, Reed was signed by publisher and record producer Bill Lowery to cut his first record, "If the Good Lord's Willing and the Creeks Don't Rise."

He won a Grammy Award for "When You're Hot, You're Hot" in 1971 for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. A year earlier, he shared a Grammy with Chet Atkins for their collaboration, "Me and Jerry." In 1992, Atkins and Reed won a Grammy for "Sneakin' Around.". Jerry Reed appeared in over a dozen movies.

"I'm proud of the songs, I'm proud of things that I did with Chet (Atkins), I'm proud that I played guitar and was accepted by musicians and guitar players," Reed told the AP in 1992.

One Day at a Time actress Mackenzie Phillips was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday for allegedly possessing heroin and cocaine. She's in custody right now.

"She was being screened by airport security when a small amount of what appeared to be heroin and cocaine were found on her person," Sgt. Jim Holcomb told PEOPLE magazine . "She was arrested at about 10 a.m. and is still in custody."

Sgt. Jim Holcomb, spokesman for Los Angeles Airport Police also said "The substances were found in balloons and baggies."

Airport police were called to the scene and arrested Phillips on the felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and transported to the airport police station for further investigation.

The 48 year old former TV star has long struggled with drug addiction, by the time she was 22, she was written off the popular Norman Lear sitcom One Day at a Time for her nasty drug habit.

The troubled singer's weight has fluctuated since she took time off from her career to have sons Sean and Jayden. However, the mother-of-two has mapped out a new healthy eating plan to be a healthy role model for her growing sons.

"My diet has a lot to do with my getting into shape. I have no sugar. I don't eat fruit or even fruit juice because of the sugar. I eat chicken and salmon and rice. I eat avocados. I'll have egg whites for breakfast and sometimes turkey burgers for lunch." Spears said.

"I try to do just 1,200 calories a day. It may sound like it's not much, but it's actually a lot of food if you eat the right things." Spears added that she’s also making regular visits to the gym, doing “lots of cardio and weights” five days a week.

Britney Spears has returned to the MTV stage this month to tape a promotional video for this year's ceremony. Spears has appeared in four promo commercials for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. Spears has been nominated for three nominations at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, 3 for her single Piece of Me. LeRoi Moore,46, saxophonist and founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008. Moore died at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, from complications stemming from injuries he sustained in an ATV accident, according to a statement on the band's Web site.

Moore was injured on June 30, 2008 in an ATV accident on his farm outside Charlottesville, Virginia, breaking several ribs and puncturing a lung, and was hospitalized for several days.
Though released several days later, Complications forced him back to the hospital on July 17.

The band went on with its show Tuesday night on August 19, 2008 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where lead singer Dave Matthews paid tribute to Moore, after the band's first song of the performance - Bartender "We all had some bad news today," Matthews told the sold-out crowd. "Our good friend LeRoi Moore passed on and gave his soul up today and we will miss him forever." Fans then shouted Moore's name in remembrance.

Moore often arranged music for the songs written by frontman Dave Matthews. Moore also co-wrote many of the band's songs, notably "Too Much" and "Stay".

Musician Katie Reider Died

Singer and songwriter Katie Reider, 30, died Monday morning, July 14, 2008 in New Jersey after a two-year battle with a tumor that forced her from the stage in 2006, but not from her will to survive.

Earlier she wrote on her website

"There always seems to be a lot of waiting and that can be frustrating, but while I wait, I am trying to LIVE! Let’s live together and remind one another how precious life is and how we should live each moment to the fullest."

After multiple diagnoses and treatments, doctors diagnosed her in June 2007 with a rare myofibroblastic inflammation tumor that had progressed from her sinus and upper left jaw to behind her left eye and later she had double vision that made it impossible for her to perform. Just when doctors had controlled her tumor, Reider began to hemorrhage from an artery in her brain. It was this hemorrhaging that led to Reider's death on Monday.

Reider's mother Gaile Reider, died of cancer last year. "The mother-and-child reunion going on in heaven right now must be unbelievable," her father said Monday from his Montgomery home. Reider's father Rob Reider, best known as a singer on the Cincinnati-based syndicated entertainment program The Bob Braun Show in the 1970s and ’80s.

Katie Reider is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and has been performing and making music since she was a little girl. She received her first guitar, a red Gibson Epiphone, from her parents when she was in fifth grade.

Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart slipped during the evening-gown competition at the 57th annual Miss Universe beauty pageant at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam on Sunday.

Stewart, a 26-year-old Texan, handled the tumble with a smart way she appeared to catch her shoes on her gown and took a tumble: She put on a radiant smile as she picked herself up and clapped her hands over her head, as if to say, “I meant to do that.”

Stewart succeeds Rachel Smith, Miss USA 2007, who suffered a similar embarrassing tumble at last year’s Miss Universe competition live from Mexico City … though it did lead to be famous on YouTube.

The reigning Miss USA told TODAY “When I was walking out, the last thing on my mind was falling,” Stewart said. “One thing you don’t want to do in an evening gown is trip … and fall on your bottom. The thing is how you handle it. You just pick yourself up — in life in general.”

Angelina Jolie has given birth to a girl and a boy Saturday at the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France.

He said the Caesarean was moved forward from its originally planned date "for medical reasons" so that the babies could be born "in the best conditions." Sussman also said Jolie is expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days.

The first photos of the new twins are expected to fetch millions of dollars, so the hospital said it had coated the windows of Jolie's room with a special material to prevent paparazzi from taking unauthorized pictures of the star couple.

The new twins make the number of children in the Jolie-Pitt clan half a dozen. Jolie, 33, and partner Brad Pitt, 44, are already parents to Maddox, 6; Pax, 4; Zahara, 3; and Shiloh, 2. Jolie recently told Entertainment Weekly that she was surprised when she knew she was having twins. "It did shock us, and we jumped to six children quickly,".

Crawford's brother, Jeff, was a patient at the University of Wisconsin Children's Hospital. The beauty admits she is still affected by his tragic passing to this day.

The University of Wisconsin says Crawford has been contributing time and money to the UW Pediatric Oncology program for nearly 20 years. During the visit of the Supermodel to the Wisconsin hospital, Crawford said

"When I was able to start raising money and awareness, I was able to choose where do I want to give back in my life, and this just was the first place that popped into my head."

Crude pictures of Miss Washington released on the internet in embarrassing poses, getting her Beer Pong on and making suggestive oral sex gang signs.

Umemoto, 23, a proud Yakama Tribal member, is the first Miss Washington of Native American decent.

"The concepts of embracing diversity and empowering women are so important because I think they're so universal. Those are elements of society that everybody can benefit from." said Umemoto.

In Las Vegas on January 26th at the 2008 Miss America pageant, she was second runner up. Umemoto says she would not have made it that far if it wasn't for her background on the Yakama Reservation.

"I have so much history and there is such a legacy from my native heritage...and I attribute so much of who I am, and the fact that I think social causes are so important to my family and my upbringing on the reservation." said Umemoto.

Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook's divorce trial kicked off on Wednesday with a sensational testimony about Christie Brinkley's estranged husband, giving the public a salacious peek into the former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model's fourth marriage.

As the couple's bitter divorce battle began in Long Island, the model's lawyer Robert Stephan Cohen portrayed her husband, 49, as an abuser of Internet pornography whose habit cost the couple $3,000 a month.

The affair lasted "less than a year," Cook testified about the affair he had with his then-teenage assistant, Diana Bianchi.

Cook, who has admitted paying Bianchi to keep quiet about the relationship, said in court that he began leaving money for Bianchi shortly after their affair started in 2005. Just minutes before Kid Rock should be on the stage at the Download Festival in England was rushed to the hospital according to British press reports.

Kid Rock was meant to play the Main Stage, but as he was due to come on stage an announcement was made.

Masha Markova, 22, believed she had forever lost the prized jacket - a gift from her grandmother - while attending a private birthday party at 1Oak in the Meatpacking District in the early-morning hours of Jan. 26. she was seated next to Lohan, and recalled putting the mink in a common bin with other jackets......It was gone when she prepared to leave 1Oak after an hour, Markova said.
How did Masha discover that the priceless mink had possibly been swiped by Lindsay? She saw a photo of the actress in a Magazine entering the bar in a black coat and leaving in the blond mink one.

"It was my coat. It was no doubt!" Markova said.

That Lindsay Lohan photo on the left was taken in the early morning hours of January 26.

After several back and forth phone calls, the coat arrived at Markova's Morningside Heights apartment two days later.
Reeking of cigarettes and booze with a slight tear in the lining, the fur coat was no worse for wear after a dry cleaning and quick patch-up.
"I don't see how it could have been an accident," Markova said.
Markova and her lawyer stopped short of accusing Lohan of wrongdoing. But they still want her to pay at least $10,000 for the unauthorized, three-week rental.
A spokesperson for Lindsay Lohan had no comment.

Paramount Pictures has snapped up a pitch titled “Atari,” with Leonardo DiCaprio attached to star.
Nolan Bushnell was an engineering student, puzzle-lover and game enthusiast who went from fixing broken pinball machines to launching Atari Corp. with Ted Dabney , a video game manufacturer, in the early '70s.
Among the company’s contributions were Pong and the Atari 2600.
After selling Atari, to Warner Communications for US$28,000,000, Bushnell purchased the former mansion of coffee magnate James Folger in Woodside, California, which he shared with his wife Nancy and their many children.
Although Bushnell’s life rights had long been pursued by various suitors, Hecker and Craig Sherman persuaded the gaming pioneer that they could do his unique story justice.
