Lindsay Lohan Pulls Her Name Out of Emmys Race

Lindsay Lohan, who made a guest appearance on the season finale of Ugly Betty in May, made her eligible to be nominated for the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award.

But surprisingly she took a decision not to enter the Emmy race this year. "The appearance was brief," a rep for the star told the Los Angeles Times Tuesday. "We made a decision to wait."

Next season of the TV hit show Ugly Betty Lohan will appear in at least six episodes so she can increase her chances next year.

Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta told Us magazine "She was terrific – a pleasure," Horta said. "She came in early and was very pleasant."

Last week Katherine Heigl has taken herself out of the race for this year also "I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention," Heigl told L.A. Times "In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials," she added.

Is Katherine Heigl the new Julia Roberts?

Dressed in a stunning blood-red Escada number, hair teased into Monroe-style curls, Heigl oozed old-fashioned Hollywood glamour on a grey Oscars night that was desperately in need of a touch of color, as The Daily Mail has described Katherine Heigl in a lengthy article.
"To be honest, it's too much pressure to believe that I could ever fill her shoes," she says, "and I can't help but feel that it's a little insulting to her to have that said about her."
"In any case, I think Julia Roberts herself has the whole Julia Roberts thing well under control."
Sure, there are plenty of other actresses that are quite pretty and benefit from a certain degree of popularity, but none of them even come close to Julia Roberts.
An American Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated actress admits "The success is great, and even though it brings with it a whole other set of pressures and stresses, it also gives me much more freedom," .
Heigl turned her attention to television when she accepted the role of Isabel Evans on the science fiction TV drama Roswell.
She found fame starring in TV medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, but has since found Hollywood success in movies like 2007’s Knocked Up.
She starred in the film, 27 Dresses which was released in January 2008, playing alongside James Marsden.
The 29-year-old aims to become a movie producer when she is no longer offered high profile film roles, and has set up Abishag Productions with her mom Nancy so she has a job to fall back on.
"I remember clearly those days when I didn't work," she says, "which is why it's so important to me now to strike while the iron's hot."
